Event Details
Beats for Boobs (www.beatsforboobs.org) will host its 7th annual fundraiser on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 8th. And for the first time we will be throwing our event at Mezzanine (444 Jessie Street in San Francisco), 6 pm - 2 am. Beats for Boobs is an annual fundraising event that raises community awareness for breast cancer through a collective celebration of art, fashion, food and music.
This year will be our biggest yet! Not only have we expanded in the event space but we also hope to raise over $50,000!!! (Last year Beats for Boobs raised over $25,000 for the breast cancer cause). How are we going to double this amount this year? With YOU, YOU, AND YOU!
This year, we have three beneficiaries:
Breast Cancer Emergency Fund (http://www.breastcanceremergencyfund.org)
Shanti: LifeLines Breast Cancer Services (http://www.shanti.org/lifelines/index.html)
Breast Cancer Fund (www.breastcancerfund.org)
Beats for Boobs will be hosting an array of entertainment for you all evening long. We will have loads of FOOD, EDUCATIONAL GAMES, FASHION, ART, SILENT AUCTION ITEMS and BEATS to boot for the boobie!
Our theme this year, Beats for Boobs 2010: Prepare for Battle!
Our mothers, our girlfriends, our sisters, our aunts and even the girl looking back at you in the mirror need to arm themselves for the fight against breast cancer. As warriors, we must prepare an arsenal of awareness, education, prevention and a dancing spirit.
In its seventh year, Beats for Boobs is declaring war against breast cancer. Readying women and those who love them with information, resources and community support, the organizers of Beats for Boobs are preparing for battle.
Hear the rallying cry October 8, 2010 from Mezzanine as powerful female DJs bring it to challenge the boys at the turntables while crowds devour the finest of warrior-inspired fashion and rations of culinary delights.
It’s time. The battle is ON!
